Release Notes

This release is a combination of all other Word bibliography style releases in this project. This release gets updated whenever one of the other releases gets updated. To get more information on the different styles and how to use them, check the styles page.

Style names ending on a * indicate that the BibWord Extender tool is needed to use their complete functionality.

Installation on Windows (Word 2007/2010/2013)

To use the bibliography styles, they have to be copied into the Microsoft Word bibliography style directory. This directory can vary depending on where Word is installed:
Word 2007
    <winword.exe directory>\Bibliography\Style
On most 32-bits machines with Microsoft Word 2007 this will be:

    %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office12\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.
Word 2010
    <winword.exe directory>\Bibliography\Style
On most 32-bits machines with Microsoft Word 2010 this will be:

    %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.
Word 2013
    <user directory>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style
On most machines with Micrososft Word 2013 this will be:

    %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.

Remark: the types.xml included with the stylesheets should be used in combination with BibType to create some extra fields for the different types.

Installation on Mac OS X (Word 2008/2011)

To use the bibliography styles, right-click on Microsoft Word 2008 and select show package contents. Put the files in:

    Contents/Resources/Style/
On most Macs with Microsoft Word 2008 this will be:

    /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Microsoft Word.app/Contents/Resources/Style/

Extending sources with YearSuffix and BibOrder

The BibWord Extender tool can be used to extend the capabilities of BibOrder. It allows the addition of year suffices to certain styles as well as alphabetical numbered ordering.

Check the BibWord Extender wiki page on how to use the tool on both Windows and Mac OS X. Note that Mac OS X users will have to download an extra library from the latest release. A link to the latest release can be found at the top of the BibWord Extender wiki page.

It should be noted that on a 64 bit machine you have "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)". On my machine the style folder was in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12\Bibliography\Style". However there was a "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\" folder as well, which got me confused in the beginning.

A little tweaking, I don't know what I did but I have a doi box and it displays and prints in the bibliography!!! That is all that matters!!!! I would like to make it a required field however. Working great word 2010

Thanks, thank you, and double thanks. Coding is often a thankless job, so I'd like to rectify that with some more thanks --> thx! This helped immensely for an MSword 2007 project. I cannot fathom why MS wasn't able to make these obvious styles themselves? Beers are owed.

Exactly what I was looking for. Nearly lost all my hear before I found this project. Thank you!

Excellent release! My only qualm is the IEEE styles. I noticed that when I change the font format of "Heading 2" in word, it changes the in-text references. For example, if I use underlined or italicized font in "Heading 2", it applies this to the references. I haven't noticed this with others Is there an easy way to fix this? Or, perhaps I'm unaware of something going wrong on my end.

Brilliant When I found I could reference my assignments in Word I found it incredibly useful. Unfortunately I needed the Harvard style which I could not find and the MS website seemed to lack info on this. So a big thanks

Just saved me a massive effort thanks. I think there is a typo in harvard leeds. "form world wide web" instead of "from world wide web"
