References ordering in LNCS style

Apr 6, 2010 at 6:14 PM

 Dear all,

I'm using LNCS style. Big thanks to the author for this work.

Nevertheless, I would like all references to be ordered alphabetically, even those that I add afterwards.

Is it possible? If so, how?

Thanks in advance,

Yes, but it's not all that easy.

For starters, alphabetically sorted bibliographies which use numbers for in-text citations can't be created by Word 2007. You will need the BibWord Extender tool.

You will have to replace all RefOrder with BibOrder. And you will have to add sortkey elements specifying how items need to be sorted.

As an alternative, you can look at the IEEE styles. There is already an alphabetic version of that style, you could copy the format elements from the LNCS style to that style.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

I will give a try to both solutions.

All the best,
